How We Review
We score what a seller will say in public. We do not score how well anything works, because nobody honestly can.
The method, in four rules
- We never score how well something works.
Most sites in this market give a mark out of ten. To do that you would need trials in people. Nobody selling these has run them. A score would be invented.
- We score what a seller will state in public.
Whether it names a testing lab. Whether it prints a purity figure. Whether a returns policy exists. All of it checkable by anyone.
- "We could not confirm" gets its own column.
It is not quietly dropped or rounded into a no. A gap in the record is a finding, and it is the finding readers most need.
- We date every check.
A seller can change a page tomorrow. A check with no date on it is worthless.
What we will and will not put a mark against
- Published purity figures
- Whether a lab is named
- Research-use labelling
- Returns and shipping terms
- Whether a certificate can be matched to a batch
- How well a compound works
- Whether it is safe
- Results anyone reports
- Anything we would have to guess at
A directory that scores effectiveness in this market is inventing a number. We would rather publish a smaller claim that happens to be true.
